Lille Economics and Management (LEM, CNRS UMR 9221) and IÉSEG School of Management invite applications for a fully funded Ph.D. position in Economics and Sustainability at its Paris campus. The project aims to use advanced algorithms to assess inclusive performance, focusing on economic development, resource conservation, environmental protection, and social progress. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Zhiyang Shen and be co-supervised by Prof. Mikayel Vardanyan. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2024.

The candidate will be part of the Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods and will engage in research projects with strong potential for publication in international journals.

Eligibility:

  • Master’s degree in economics, preferably with a secondary specialization in finance, statistics, operations, management, or mathematics
  • Fluency in English (IELTS score of 6.5, or equivalent) or evidence of prior teaching in English
  • Ability to teach undergraduate-level courses in English
  •  Solid background in linear programming, advanced econometrics, and data envelopment analysis
  • Proficiency with programming languages and software packages such as Stata, GAMS, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Strong potential to publish in AJG category 4 journals
  • Passion for research and ability to work independently
