Expires on: 04/05/2024

Uppsala University’s Department of Chemistry invites applications for a PhD student position in Chemistry under the supervision of Professor Daniel Globisch. The successful candidate will join the Globisch laboratory, an international and multidisciplinary research group focusing on the development of new Chemical Biology methodologies to advance metabolomics-based research. This exciting project offers an opportunity to delve into interdisciplinary research at the interface of Chemistry and Biology, investigating neurological diseases and developing innovative chemical biology methodologies.

The selected candidate will engage in research focusing on the design and chemical synthesis of chemoselective probes within the Globisch laboratory. This interdisciplinary project involves a combination of chemical synthesis, mass spectrometric analysis of metabolites in biological samples, and investigation of microbiome metabolism. The PhD student will contribute to ongoing research projects, participate in third-cycle courses, and may undertake teaching and other departmental duties.

  •  Applicants should hold a basic higher education equivalent to at least 240 ECTS credits, including at least 60 ECTS credits at Master’s level, or possess substantially equivalent knowledge.
