Emergency Response Africa (ERA) is a healthcare technology company that provides urgent medical care to victims at the scene of the emergency and facilitates access to advanced hospital care through a network of community-based first responders, ambulances, and hospitals. The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has collaborated with ERA to introduce the Technology-Enabled Emergency Medical Services Project (FID-EMS). This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform emergency healthcare response and enhance health insurance enrollment in Edo State.

Job Description
- We are looking for dedicated Paramedics to deliver quality emergency medical services. The role involves providing pre-hospital care, administering medical treatment, and ensuring the safe transport of patients to medical facilities.
- We are interested in a committed, self-motivated, focused, and compassionate person to fill this gap.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls, assess patient condition, and make critical care decisions quickly.
- Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards.
- Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training.
- Handle non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
- Collect pertinent patient care data and transfer that data to a medical professional based on state guidelines.
- Work closely with community-based first responders to manage patients.
- Evaluate the patient’s condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis.
- Stabilize patients or provide immediate treatment of injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital treatments.
- Use technology tools to communicate with dispatchers, emergency victims and hospitals and facilitate transportation to hospitals if needed.
- Monitor the patient’s condition en route to the hospital.
- Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors etc.)
- Prepare accurate reports on all incidents and patients’ cases.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 3+ years proven experience as a paramedic.
- First Aid / CPR Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certified First aid / CPR Instructor desirable but not required.
- HND in Emergency Medical Technology (Paramedics) or its equivalent
Soft Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and medications
- Integrity and empathy
- Excellent working knowledge of medical equipment and devices
- Ability to stay calm and make the right decisions in adverse conditions.
- Adaptable with a great deal of stamina
Salary
N90,000 – N110,000 / Month.
