Breeding for enhanced radiation and water use in cereals, including sorghum, remains a challenge due to the complex interactions between nitrogen and water on final yield for different genotype x environment x management (GxExM) combination. 

This scholarship includes:

  • living stipend of $33,641 per annum tax free (2024 rate), indexed annually
  •  tuition fees covered
  •  single overseas student health cover (OSHC) for international students.

  • publication record
  • honours and awards
  • employment history

Qualifications 

A working knowledge of field crops, crop eco-physiology and quantitative analysis techniques would be of benefit to someone working on this project. You’ll demonstrate academic achievement in the area/s of crop eco-physiology and the potential for scholastic success. A background or knowledge of high-throughput phenotyping and data analytics is are highly desirable.
