Job Brief
- We seek to hire a Technical Sales Manager to join our vibrant team who will work out of our office in Port Harcourt.
- As a result of operational expansion and business strategic repositioning, we are looking to Strengthen our workforce with qualified and experienced professionals who will assist with the attainment of the company’s business growth objectives and articulating new business development opportunities in the upstream sector of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry.
- The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and providing technical expertise to support the sales process.
- He/ She will collaborate closely with our sales and engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet our client’s specific needs while ensuring exceptional service and support throughout the sales cycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking efforts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to understand technical requirements and develop customized solutions.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and technical workshops for clients and prospects.
- Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market feedback to management.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
- Ensuring the company’s growth objectives are attained, articulating new business development opportunities, and identifying, negotiating, and managing relationships with technical partners in line with corporate goals.
- Identify immediate and long-term needs of clients for the company’s products and services on such projects.
- Monitor company performance against agreed business targets.
- Identify and recommend appropriate technical assistance for key customers.
- Provide technical support to the tender team to ensure all tenders and pre-qualification.
- Attending Oil and Gas functions, for example, association events and conferences to gain new networks and prospects.
- Lead the formulation, execution, and monitoring of the company’s business development, market penetration strategies, and plans for enhancing business growth.
- Develop close professional relations with key decision-makers and influencers in the Nigerian Upstream Oil and Gas Sector.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with partners and clients and develop a deep understanding of their needs.
- Liaise between the company and key agencies in the industry such as NUPRC, NNPC (NUIMS, NEPL & Nipex), and NCDMB.
- Demonstrate consistent business development success and target—driven achievements.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics
- Proven track record of success in technical sales, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role and a strong existing client base.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven client account management experience in the Upstream sector of Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- An understanding of oilfield processes is required and a strong understanding of the Nigerian Oil Industry (Upstream sector).
- Ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Competencies:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of upcoming and ongoing key projects in the upstream sector of the Oil and Gas Sector.
- Self-motivated with a strategic mindset.
- Proven experience working with minimum supervision.
- Charismatic, social, responsible, and passionate about the job.
- Proven sales contacts in the Upstream sector of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry
