Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Bidding Engineer to join our team and lead the preparation and submission of bids for engineering projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
- The Bidding Engineer will play a critical role in securing new business opportunities by developing competitive and compelling proposals that meet client requirements and objectives.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in engineering and significant experience in bid management and tendering processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the bid management process for engineering projects, from initial client inquiry to bid submission, ensuring compliance with all tender requirements and deadlines.
- Review client specifications, scope of work, and technical requirements to develop comprehensive bid proposals that address client needs and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements throughout the bidding process, including adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Participate in bid clarification meetings, site visits, and presentations to present technical solutions, clarify project details, and address client feedback.
- Track and monitor bid outcomes, including success rates, feedback, and lessons learned, and use insights to continuously improve bidding strategies and processes.
- Collaborate with business development, sales, and marketing teams to support lead generation, client relationship management, and market intelligence activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, project management, procurement, and finance, to gather relevant information and inputs for bid preparation.
- Conduct technical evaluations, risk assessments, and cost estimations to determine project feasibility, pricing strategy, and resource requirements.
- Prepare and compile all necessary documentation for bid submissions, including technical proposals, commercial offers, qualifications, and supporting materials.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify bid requirements, negotiate terms, and address any queries or concerns.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, project management, or related roles, with a focus on bid management and tendering processes.
- Proven track record of successfully preparing and submitting bids for engineering projects, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and solutions clearly and concisely.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in bid documentation and analysis.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical background in engineering disciplines relevant to Oil & Gas projects, such as mechanical, civil, electrical, or process engineering.
- Excellent understanding of bid management principles, tendering procedures, and contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis, with the ability to develop competitive pricing strategies and commercial offers.
- Advanced skills in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
Salary
N500,000 Monthly.
