Doctoral Position in Electrical Engineering, Queens University of Belfast, United Kingdom

Expires on: 04/30/2024

Conventional microwave imaging methods involve variants of synthetic aperture radar and phased arrays. These techniques offer significant drawbacks in terms of key system metrics, including data acquisition speed, imaging resolution, and hardware-layer complexity. Metasurface-based compressive coded-apertures offer an alternative to solve this problem; computational imaging (CI). However, a significant challenge for CI stems from the fact that metasurface antennas can lack sufficient measurement modes, and they are conventionally adopted in near-field-based scenarios, limiting the imaging distance.

This is a fully funded project, offering full stipend and tuition fees for UK/EU/international candidates.

Requirements:

The minimum academic requirement for admission is normally an Upper Second Class Honours degree from a UK or ROI Higher Education provider in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the University.
