Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the company debtor list.
 - Loan monitoring
 - Contacting customers and informing them of their overdue bills.
 - Advising customers on their payment options and suggesting methods of payments.
 - Negotiating suitable payment plans.
 - Maintaining customer payment records.
 - Writing demand notice warnings to customers when payments are not being made.
 - Preparing letter of indebtedness and non-indebtedness for customers
 - Instituting legal action when customers fail to pay their debt through the Head of Risk Management/HOP.
 - Responding to customers queries.
 - Cheque presentation at the bank for customers who missed their payments.
 - Maintain excel records for customers’ promises and payment plans (both performing and non-performing) as well as updating the software application.
 - Escalating missed repayments to the Head of Recovery on first default.
 - Ensure that at least 80% of loan portfolio is performing.
 - Rendering weekly collections report to Head of Recovery.
 - Classification of loans
 - Maintaining of register for returned cheques and a spreadsheet for customers showing customers’ names, address, repayment dates, loan amount, tenor, repayment pattern for easy tracking etc.
 
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Management, or a similar field.
 - Previous experience working as a Collections Officer.
 - Excellent negotiating skills.
 - Good written and verbal communication skills.
 - Must exhibit high level of confidence.
 - Familiarity with loan collections and recovery rules of engagement.
 - Knowledge of payment plans and accounting procedures.
 - Knowledge of Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Word.
 - Patience and resilience.
 - Numerically and analytically inclined.
 - Be friendly with data analysis.
 
Remuneration: NGN 120,000 – 200,000
