The University of Oslo’s Centre for Ecological and Evolutionary Synthesis at the Department of Biosciences is hiring a PhD Research Fellow in evolutionary ecology and genomics. The position involves a multidisciplinary project focusing on the house sparrow to investigate adaptation to changing temperatures, utilizing ecology, genomics, ancient DNA, and evolutionary biology.

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in biology, ecology, genetics, or evolutionary biology
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Desired qualifications include experience with bioinformatics, handling large datasets, fieldwork experience (bird handling), and knowledge of laboratory work (DNA extraction, quantification, and library preparation).
  • Candidates without a master’s degree have until June 30, 2024, to complete the final exam.
