PhD Funded Position in nucleic acid biochemistry in Germany: The University of Marburg, founded in 1527, offers a variety of excellent programs of study for around 22,000 students and confronts the important topics of our time through excellent research across a broad spectrum of sciences.
The Department of Pharmacy, Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, research group RNA biochemistry is currently accepting applications for a Doctoral Researcher/PhD Student. The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered, and is conducted part-time (65 % of regular working hours), with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
Qualifications
- MSc-degree or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics or a related field
- proficiency in written and spoken English
- excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative work ethic
- passion for curiosity-driven science
- experience in molecular cloning, protein purification, in vitro transcripton, and cell culture techniques (e.g., transient transfection, siRNA-mediated knockdown) is desirable
- a background in transcription and nucleic acid biochemistry is advantageous
