Description:
The Czech Technical University in Prague announces a fully funded Ph.D. position in modular-topology optimization within the Engineering and Mathematics research fields. This interdisciplinary opportunity is part of the EU-funded ROBOPROX project, focusing on applying mathematical programming techniques to optimize modular structures, mechanisms, and materials.
The Ph.D. project involves applying and developing mathematical programming techniques for optimal design in modular structures, mechanisms, or (meta-)materials. The research will contribute to closing the gap in computationally efficient algorithms for modular design, focusing on the challenges posed by discrete and continuous features. The candidate will work on a three-step sequential framework, addressing material distribution, modularization, and topology optimization.
