ABOUT CATS COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE AND CSVPA
CATS College and CSVPA offers an outstanding international pre-university educational experience to students aged 14+ from all over the world. CATS students live and work at the custom-built Cambridge campus, studying for GCSEs, A levels and University Foundation Programmes, and preparing for admission to universities across the country and elsewhere. CSVPA students’ study in buildings in the heart of the City of Cambridge on courses ranges from Pre-Foundation to Masters Levels. We pride ourselves on our approach to teaching and learning, with small class sizes and an informal atmosphere ensuring that students are treated as individuals and build great relationships with staff.
OVERVIEW OF THE JOB
To support the Boarding team with supervision in the boarding houses and assist with evening and weekend activities.
REPORTS TO
You will be directly responsible to the Head of Boarding
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
Boarding
To carry out duties in boarding as required.
To support a suitable programme of wide-ranging activities for boarders in the evenings and at weekends in liaison with the Head of Boarding /Head of House.
To be aware of the implications of the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools for welfare and pastoral care in the house.
Deal with all pastoral issues with support from House Leaders / Deputy House Leaders where necessary.
Follow the procedures in the Boarding House as set by the Head of Boarding.
To support the administration of medicine and first aid to boarders when necessary.
To keep a record of all incidents, accidents or breakages involving boarders.
Work closely with the Boarding staff to ensure that the laundry, snacks, furnishings, and cleanliness of the boarding house are maintained at a high standard.
To support the House Leaders in updating all records.
To support the House Leaders with room checks, room cleanliness and room inspections.
To be resident prior to arrival, and after departure of boarders, to support boarders’ arrivals and departures and deal with parental requests in the absence of the house staff.
After the end of term, to assist with the clearing up and cleaning of the house to carry out a check on furnishings to ensure that all are in good order, repairs carried out, and that rooms are clean and presentable.
To adhere at all times to Safeguarding and Child Protection regulations.
To be aware and adhere at all times to the school code of conduct and confidentiality.
As an Employee of Cats Cambridge, you may be required to provide support and cover across all sites as and when required.
To take part in the appraisal system of the school.
