Description
The DNA Repair Laboratory at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences (RCNS), Institute of Enzymology, Budapest, Hungary, is seeking highly motivated candidates for MSc and PhD student research positions in molecular biology. The laboratory, led by Dr. Gergely Rona, focuses on unraveling DNA repair processes to identify vulnerabilities in diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration. The positions offer hands-on experience in cutting-edge molecular and cell biology techniques, advanced imaging, next-generation sequencing, and proteomics.
The successful candidates will be part of a collaborative team under the guidance of Dr. Gergely Rona. The positions provide an opportunity to contribute to interdisciplinary research and gain expertise in genomics, proteomics, biochemistry, and molecular and cell biology. The research will focus on understanding DNA repair processes in terminally differentiated cells compared to actively replicating cells.
Eligibility
- BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences
- Theoretical knowledge in molecular biology
- Preference given to candidates with hands-on experience in cell biology, biochemistry, or bioinformatics
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive laboratory environment
How to Apply
Interested candidates should send their CV and a cover letter detailing their research experience and interests to Dr. Gergely Rona via email at rona.gergely@ttk.hu.
