MRC LID is now open for applications to join the programme in September 2024.
PRE-APPLICATION STEPS
1. Find out more about MRC LID, and whether this is the Doctoral Training Programme for you.
2. Check the value of an MRC LID studentship.
3. Ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.
4. Consider the most suitable studentship route for you.
5. Watch the MRC LID Applicant Workshop recordings.
6. Look at the 2024-25 Research Projects on offer, and select the one most closely linked to your research interests and path.
7. Read through the MRC LID documents for this recruitment round:
- 2024-25 MRC LID Applicant Guidance and FAQs
- 2024-25 MRC LID Online Application Questions (for an overview of the questions that will be asked on the online application)
- 2024-25 MRC LID Online Application Guidance (for guidance on completing questions, when read alongside Applicant Guidance & FAQs document)
8. Contact your potential project supervisors for a discussion about your proposed project.
9. Prepare the mandatory documents for your application, including a suitable research proposal.
HOW TO APPLY
All applicants must follow this application process, regardless of whether they are applying for a research project based at SGUL or LSHTM.
To apply, complete an MRC LID Online Application. The complete application with all required supplementary documents must be submitted by 23:59 (GMT) on Tuesday 16 January 2024.
Please use the documents highlighted under Step 7 (above) for this task. Do not submit until you are certain that you have nothing further to add to your application.
Please note: Applicants should not apply for admission to either LSHTM or SGUL at this stage.
