The research group “Development Economics” at the Center for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS), University of Gottingen, is inviting applications for CeMIS PhD Fellowships in Development Economics. These fellowships aim to support candidates interested in pursuing a three-year PhD degree starting in October 2024, with the possibility of extension based on the candidate’s progress. The fellowship focuses on addressing the unequal access to education in India, specifically targeting students from marginalized backgrounds committed to social change. The research topics are interdisciplinary and may involve co-supervision with other faculty members at CeMIS.
The selected candidates will work on a three-year PhD research project, focusing on development economics. Interdisciplinary research topics that align with the CeMIS environment are encouraged.
