PhD Scholarship in Solar Cells, Technical University of Munich, Germany

Expires on: 05/31/2024

Join the forefront of research at the Functional Materials Chair of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with a funded PhD position. Delve into the physical fundamentals of material properties using state-of-the-art scattering methods and spectroscopic techniques. This project focuses on understanding electrode formation in organic solar cells during advanced sputter deposition, crucial for enhancing device performance.

Organic electronic devices leverage organic or organic-inorganic hybrid materials; however, electrodes are often pure metals due to their superior electronic conductivity. Understanding the interface between polymers and metals is crucial for optimizing device performance. This project focuses on employing advanced sputter deposition techniques to investigate electrode formation in organic solar cells. Collaborating with the University of Kiel and DESY Hamburg, we aim to correlate sputter parameters with electrode morphology and solar cell performance.
