Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description
- This role focuses on establishing and maintaining cassava seed multiplication for IITA’s Business Incubation Platform (BIP) GoSeed and partner outgrowers fields (both within and outside IITA).
- The production Technician establishes and maintains cassava seed multiplication fields according to best practices, acts as a bridge between IITA BIP GoSeed, outgrowers, and seed entrepreneurs, maintains accurate and timely records of established fields and provides regular progress reports to the IITA BIP GoSeed supervisor, ensures fields meet certification requirements from relevant authorities and Identifies and connects IITA BIP GoSeed and growers with buyers for cultivated cassava seeds.
Requirements
- BSc / HND with a minimum of Eight (8) years experience performing a similar role in a structured environment.
Skills / Competencies:
The ideal candidate must:
- Have experience in conducting seed multiplication using different techniques.
- Have ability to innovate, quickly adapt and apply new methods.
- Knowledge of SeedTracker will be an added advantage.
- Proficient computer skills. Also typing and data entry
- Understanding of resource management and operational procedures
- Be capable to cope with heavy workloads extending beyond office hours and during weekends.
