The Soft Robotics and Intelligent Machines Laboratory (SAIL) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, led by Dr. Tianlu Wang, is inviting self-motivated individuals with backgrounds in soft robotics, mechanics, electronics, fluid dynamics, and related fields to join their multidisciplinary research team. The positions include fully funded Ph.D. positions starting in Fall 2024, as well as several positions for research assistants, exchange students, and interns.

Qualification:

  • Enthusiasm for translating soft robotics techniques to tackle environmental and medical challenges
  • Background in design, fabrication, modeling, control, and construction of soft robotic systems
  • Experience in mechanics, dynamics, fluid-structure interactions, electronics, and ROS (Robot Operating Systems)
