Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Risk Officer to join our esteemed Oil and Gas company. The Risk Officer will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks within our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies that align with our company’s objectives.

Responsibilities:

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities across the organization.
Analyze financial data, market trends, and industry standards to assess potential risks and their potential impact on the company’s operations.
Develop risk management policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and recommend improvements as necessary.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure risk management practices are implemented and followed consistently.
Stay updated on emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s risk profile.
Prepare risk reports and present findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Assist in the development and implementation of crisis management plans and business continuity strategies.
Provide training and guidance to employees on risk awareness and mitigation techniques.
Maintain documentation of risk management activities and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Requirements:

Completed NYSC (National Youth Service Corps) program.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Finance-related course.
0-2 years of relevant experience in risk management, preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and interpret complex financial and operational data.
Familiarity with risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
