Job Position: Technical Assistant to Founder / CEO
Job Location: Surulere, Lagos
Job Description
- We are looking to hire a dynamic Technical Assistant to help our CEO organize and manage key priorities, and balance important internal systems, processes, and stakeholder relationships.
- This position requires someone who is creative and enjoys working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is results-driven and can exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.
- The ideal candidate must have strong written and verbal communication, strategic and operational capabilities, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Also, he or she must be able to work with limited supervision.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Support:
- Facilitate ideation, brainstorming, and consultations required for problem-solving, successful pursuit of opportunities, and implementation and execution of strategy and corporate objectives
- Assist the CEO to align time with key priorities, milestones, deadlines, and decisions.
- Lead strategic initiatives that will help drive organizational growth and operational improvements, working with key executives. Identify and analyze opportunistic corporate and business development opportunities
- Provide thought leadership and leadership on a variety of cross-functional projects using strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills
- Work closely with the CEO to strategize, plan for, and develop presentations/materials for internal and external use
Operational Support:
- Manage the CEO’s diary: appointments and scheduling etc.
- Manage and facilitate the hosting of meetings, convening, events, etc. related to entities led by the CEO.
- Co-ordinate the CEO’s travel and all movement to and from events, meetings, etc. related to business, and other engagements
- Attend to correspondences linked to the organizations where the CEO provides support and ensure that they are properly attended to in a prompt manner.
- Improve the CEO’s turnaround time on correspondence that requires his attention and swift dissemination of outbound correspondence
- Act as a gatekeeper and or a gateway, creating win-win situations for direct access to the CEO’s time and office.
- Attend to all concerns addressed to the CEO’s office, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature, and determine the appropriate course of action or response.
- Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the CEO’s office and internal departments.
- Work closely and effectively with the CEO to keep him well-informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
- Acts as a “barometer,” having a sense of the issues taking place in the Company and keeping the CEO updated.
- Edit and complete first drafts for written communications to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with special projects; designing and producing complex documents, reports, and presentations; collecting and preparing information for meetings with staff and outside parties; composing and preparing correspondence.
- Manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion, especially decisions directly impacting the global operations of the company.
- Conserve the CEO’s time by reading, researching, collecting, and analyzing information as needed, in advance.
Job Requirements
The Must Have
- University Degree in a Management Science, Business, or Law field from a reputable university with a minimum of second-class upper-division grade
- Second degree will be an added advantage
- 3+ years of experience in a corporate environment working with senior-level executives
- Ability to travel is a key requirement
