JOB PURPOSE
To assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy for the Group and ensure day to day compliance with cross border requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Customs Compliance assistance
• Work on the company’s new AEO implementation program with Project Manager
• Work on internal process improvement projects.
• Liaise and provide instructions on clearance best practice with third parties including DC operator, customs agent and carriers to improve data accuracy and resolve issues at borders in EMEIA.
• Develop a working knowledge of the IT Software solution managed by the business (Ricardo) to run its bonded warehouse and the SAP architecture within its environment.
• Complete investigations and prepare reports to assist with audits and internal queries
• Collate monthly Regional and Global Duty spend.
• Prepare audit information for the monthly Customs payments in UK and Italy.
• Product Classification – EU, US, Russia and Brazil for all product areas within the business
• Oversee the courier imports (UPS, Fedex) for authorisation into France
• Provide support to the preference co-ordinator
CITES Compliance and day to day operations – Operational cover
Provide back up to the CITES process
• Communicate daily with our Global Sourcing and sales offices around the world
• Ensure that SAP master data related with CITES materials is accurate
• Liaise with our Sales department to ensure legal compliance for all cross-border transactions.
• Work with the UK government department, DEFRA, submitting applications for licences
• Ensuring that all deadlines are met for the flow of CITES materials
PERSONAL PROFILE
Qualifications & Experience
Good academic qualifications
Experience of working with EU Compliance regulations
Working knowledge of Ricardo software system preferred or any other importation clearance management system
Good understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms; preference and valuation
Experience of working in a manufacturing or fashion environment preferred
Denied Party screening knowledge
Basic use of SAP preferred.
Intermediate excel skills.
Good standard of English.
Ability to work in a team as well as being confident to work independently;
Strong communication skills, particularly with commercial functions
Demonstrates initiative and drive to meet deadlines and work in an ambiguous environment.
