Doctoral Research Position in Biology and Biochemistry, Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry

Expires on: 03/31/2024

The Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) in Halle (Saale), Germany, invites applications for a three-year PhD position in Plant Biochemistry within the Independent Research Group “Receptor Biochemistry.” This scholarship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on plant receptor-like kinases and their role in cell-to-cell communication and immunity. The research focuses on understanding the proteolytic processing of immune plant receptors, particularly ectodomain shedding, and its effects on receptor function. The project utilizes state-of-the-art methods in molecular biology, biochemistry, and proteomics to investigate the intricate regulatory mechanisms of plant physiology.Eligibility: Applicants must hold a Diploma, Master’s degree, or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, or a related field. Strong English communication skills (spoken and written) are essential. A background in molecular biology, biochemistry, plant-microbe interactions, proteomics, or cell biology is required, with basic knowledge in plant biochemistry highly appreciated.
