Job Position: Head, Marketing

Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

  1. Coordinates all marketing related activities in all regions.
  2. Emphasis on breaking new grounds while increasing our share of current customers businesses.
  3. Analyse current industry trends with a view to position the company to take advantage of upcoming opportunities.

Managing:

  1. supervise activities of all marketers in the region with the objective of ensuring profit is met, and within expense budget.
  2. As a result of the above, have proper knowledge and understanding of marketers Job Description.
  3. Consistently review marketing process and procedures, (more specifically sales models) as compared with international standards. Considering peculiarities of this industry.
  4. Coordinate report writing; detailing activities and performance.
  5. Create templates that facilitate efficiency.
  6. Verification of outstanding Debts.
  7. Have good knowledge and understanding of most key customers;
  8. Reactivate dormant school accounts
  9. Consistently monitor budget for new schools account opening
  10. Consistently analyse policies and processes – discounts, Pricing, sales credit, book returns etc.
  11. Give periodic report on all marketing activities.

Institutional and Bulk Market:

  1. Establish relevant relationships with key public office holders.
  2. Ensure company’s visibility, strengthen relationships at the local and state government levels.
  3. Ensure our relevance and active participation in bulk book supply projects relating to; SUBEB, UBEC, Community and Constituency Projects, etc.
  4. Establish personal relationship with the high profile 20% schools, and cluster schools with their head office in the region ie Army, Faith academy, Deeper life, Redeemed etc

Functions and Events:

  1. Represent/coordinate Book fairs, workshops etc
  2. Awareness; training, Seminars, Workshops etc. for Schools Teachers and Proprietors.
  3. Suggest activities/things that will endear clients to the company – competitive events, use of souvenirs etc
  4. Use of freelancers for awareness programs

Depot:

  1. Have oversight function. Baring in mind that the depot supervisors reporting line is Warehouse Manager.
  2. Ensure proper functioning of the depot.
  3. The key objective is to coordinate activities of all marketers in the region in line with the company’s objective. Ensure the company realizes its vision in the region, while practicing its values.

General Overview

  1. The Head of Marketing – also known as the Marketing Director – develops a fully integrated strategy for the business. They’re responsible for marketing media assets through promotions and events with new and innovative marketing methods.
  2. They oversee the use of integrated channels to attract customers and increase brand awareness. They also oversee general marketing, communications and public relations efforts.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Creating product messaging that sets new products apart from others in the market by leveraging their unique selling point.
  2. Communicating vision and value of new products to the sales team, and assisting with developing sales tools that facilitate the selling process.
  3. Researching competitor offerings and carrying out market research data to establish appropriate product pricing.
  4. Planning and participating in the launch of new services and products across different departments.
  5. Briefing press and PR teams about the new products and ensuring positive feedback.
  6. Finding insights into customers’ current usage of products, untapped opportunities and buyer personas via interviews, surveys, focus groups and sales data.
  7. Agreeing timelines and deadlines for developing new products with product management, engineering or manufacturing departments.
  8. Assisting with content creation, such as case studies, videos, website copy and blog posts.
  9. Leading product knowledge sessions for both external and internal audiences.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a minimum of xx years’ experience in a similar position.
  2. You’ll have a strong portfolio detailing previous successful product marketing campaigns.
  3. Proven experience designing and implementing marketing plans covering strategy, customer research, competitive analysis, product requirements, messaging, pricing, etc.
  4. You’ll have excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with an eye for quality and attention to detail.

Nice to have:

  1. You’ll have experience initiating and driving a range of programs including, webinars, trade shows, social media, content marketing etc.
  2. Confidence in effectively leading, inspiring, and mentoring direct and indirect reports.
  3. Demonstrable experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, across geographies, including executive management, product management, operations, sales and marketing.

Salary
N200,000 – N220,000 / month.
