The University of Oulu is seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher to join the Hybrid Intelligence (HI) research program. This multidisciplinary initiative, supported by the Academy of Finland, focuses on Human-AI Co-evolution and Learning in multi-realities. The position is based at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, specifically in the Learning and Educational Technology (LET) Research Lab.

The Doctoral Researcher will be part of the HI profiling research program, conducting multidisciplinary research using advanced analytical methods, including multimodal and AI-driven learning analytics. The focus is on comprehending human learning processes and developing socio-technical systems for hybrid intelligence. Responsibilities include conducting research within a team, managing project-related tasks, and disseminating findings in leading international scientific journals.

Qualification:

  1.  Master’s degree in learning sciences, computer science, or a relevant field obtained within the last five years.
  2.  Transdisciplinary research orientation with demonstrated research experience or interest.
  3. Team player with strong research and development skills.
  4. Willingness to engage in the study of human learning processes and the design and development of AI systems.
  5. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills in English.

Salary

The position is fixed-term for 4 years, starting from 15.04.2024, or negotiable. The starting gross salary will be approx. €2300-€2600 per month (before taxes). A trial period of 6 months is applied.
