Dr. Kathleen is seeking two Ph.D. students to address research questions on vertebrate ecology in the Northeast. At least one project will be in collaboration with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Research questions and focal species will depend on student interest and collaborator needs. Students should expect some field work in Rhode Island or surrounding states. Possible research areas include (but are not limited to):

  1. Occupancy, abundance, or distribution modeling for terrestrial species
  2. Connectivity and human land use analyses
  3. GIS data layer development and protected area prioritization
