The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics announces the 2024 Research Demonstrator Competition, providing fully funded PhD opportunities. These demonstratorships, valued at €22,000 per annum (tax-free), cover four years of full-time research and involve tutorial duties. The positions are competitively awarded based on academic merit, with a start date of 1st September 2024.

The program offers a total value of €22,000 per annum (tax-free) along with a €2,000 travel allowance over four years. Successful candidates, not qualifying for external fee support, will also have 100% of their fees covered. Tutorial duties are included, with additional payment. Applications are competitively assessed based on academic merit.

Eligibility:

 Applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic merit and meet UCD’s English language requirements. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake tutorial duties as part of the demonstratorship.

  • Up to three topics of interest: List them in order of preference and indicate where you learned about the scholarship.
  •  Brief curriculum vitae
  • Statement of mathematical interest: No more than 500 words.
  •  Full copies of academic transcripts: Translated to English where applicable.
  • Contact details of two academic references: Include name, telephone number, and email address.
