The Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Austin is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the EBSlab led by Professor Ethel Bayer-Santos. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in molecular mechanisms of (micro)biological conflicts, focusing on Salmonella pathogenesis, antibacterial competition, host-cell infection, and microbiome. This is a full-time position with an immediate start date and expected continuation until March 19, 2025, renewable annually for up to five years.

Qualifications 

  • PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or closely related field received within the past three years
  • Strong background in microbiology or molecular biology
  • Expertise in statistical data analysis
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong publication record
