The Department of Physics at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Nynke Dekker Lab. This exciting opportunity involves interdisciplinary research at the interface of biophysics and biochemistry, focusing on understanding the dynamics of eukaryotic DNA replication using advanced biophysical instrumentation and techniques.

Eligibility 

  • Ph.D. degree (or close to obtaining) in biophysics or microscopy
  • Practical experience and scientific maturity in biophysics and biochemistry
  • Strong skills and interest in instrumentation, data analysis, and programming
  • Experience with optical tweezers or single-molecule fluorescence microscopy is advantageous
  • Motivation to develop interdisciplinary skills in mechanochemistry, single-molecule kinetics, and protein biochemistry
  •  Independent, well-organized, and reliable work style with the ability to work in a small team
  • Strong publication record and excellent interpersonal communication skills
