Join the Peter Grünberg Institute at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, as we prepare for the deployment of the upcoming exascale computer in Jülich early 2025. We are seeking dedicated individuals to contribute to the development and utilization of our in-house DFT code FLEUR, a European lighthouse code for materials property simulations. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of quantum theory research in materials science.

Qualification

Ideal candidates should have previous experience in either HPC simulations and the programming of accelerated platforms and/or the use of DFT codes.

The selected candidates will be tasked with one of the following responsibilities:

  • Further development of the FLEUR code with a focus on enhancing its capabilities for hybrid computing architectures.
  • Creation of scientific exascale workflows utilizing the FLEUR code to simulate complex magnetic and/or electronic materials properties.

These positions will be funded by the MaX centre of excellence through limited-time contracts (2-3 years for postdoc, 3 years for PhD).
